Born in Sydney, Australia, Carmel Campbell is a self-taught artist who draws inspiration for her work from those things close to her, her family and pets. Colored pencil is her primary means of expression. Whether she is drawing animals or people, Carmel's work has an exactness that lends itself to colored pencil.
Carmel has attended workshops with internationally known colored pencil artists as Bet Borgeson, Ann Kullberg, Gary Greene, Pat Averill, Barbara Benedetti Newton and Sharon Tietjen.
Carmel is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America. She served as President of CPSA-District Chapter 201 in Portland, Oregon 2004 to 2006, and earned many accolades for her contributions and leadership.
